Text: John 20:11-18, Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene

Know: Mary Magdalene is the first person to see the resurrected Jesus and the first to preach the news of his resurrection. She mistakes him for the gardener, which may be exactly what he intended. Jesus redeems humankind through his resurrection in a garden, and restores God’s original mandate for us to work and care for the earth.

Feel: Understanding part of God’s plan for humans gives a sense of purpose. Recognizing Jesus as the “gardener” who tenderly cares for our lives builds trust and intimacy.

Do: Consider what “seeds” the Spirit of Jesus desires to plant in the garden of your life.
